Join us for a webinar featuring Colorado State University’s work on the learning analytics portion of the Systemwide Collaborative for Advancing Learning and Equity with Data, or SCALED, a Department of Education-funded initiative that began in 2024.
This session will explore how CSU is using the Unizin Data Platform to support more timely, actionable, and student-centered learning analytics. The work focuses on helping instructors move beyond identifying students who may be struggling toward understanding what is happening in their courses, what is likely to happen next, and what actions may help improve outcomes for individual students.
As part of this effort, CSU has integrated UDP data with CML Insight’s Advanced Learning Analytics Application, an instructor-facing platform that uses existing CML causal AI and learning analytics capabilities to support real-time insight, intervention recommendations, and feedback loops around student success. Rather than replacing instructor judgment, the ALA is designed to strengthen faculty decision-making by helping instructors identify where support may be needed and which interventions are most likely to help students succeed while there is still time to act.
In this 60-minute webinar, we’ll hear from Dave Johnson about Colorado State University’s approach to implementing learning analytics through the SCALED initiative and the lessons emerging from CSU’s pilot work. Topics include:
How CSU’s SCALED initiative is advancing learning analytics for student success across the CSU System
How CSU is using the Unizin Data Platform to support instructor-facing analytics and timely intervention workflows
How the Advanced Learning Analytics Application helps instructors understand what is happening with students, what is likely to happen next, and what actions may improve outcomes
Why learning analytics implementation requires more than technical integration, including faculty engagement, training, trust-building, and workflow design
What CSU is learning about the role of instructors in translating predictive and causal insights into meaningful student support
How collaborative work across CSU, Unizin, and technology partners is helping move the consortium closer to one of its original goals: advancing shared learning analytics capabilities that support student success
Mark your calendar and share this webinar with colleagues interested in learning analytics, instructional decision-making, student success, and the evolving role of the Unizin Data Platform in supporting institutional innovation.
