Unizin’s 2026 Webinar Series Kicks Off With “Scaling the Delivery of Analytics to Advisers Across a Multi-campus System”

Unizin’s 2026 Webinar series kicks off on February 25th with a focus on delivering data and analytics to advisers, a theme we will revisit throughout the year. Matt Rust, Indiana University’s Associate Vice President, Student Navigation and Support, will share his ongoing work collaborating with advisers to provide them with early alerts driven by data from the Unizin Data Platform (UDP) and local data sources. This includes the Canvas Activity Score, a method that uses various data points to calculate a student’s engagement with the Learning Management System (LMS), available to all Unizin members within their respective UDP.

What to Expect

In this 60-minute webinar, Matt will share his experiences engaging with various advising communities across the University around the use of data and analytics. Topics include:

• Early collaboration with members of the advising community around the use of data as part of the advising workflow.

• The origin of the Canvas Activity Score, and how it continues to evolve.

• Strategies to scale the use of data in advising across a large, multi-campus system.
